Coach Derek Stank was named the Head Football Coach of the San Marcos Knights in the spring of 2019.  He will be the Defensive Line Coach for the Knights and will also be teaching Physical Education at San Marcos High School. He came to San Marcos after spending 12 years at Bedford High School in Bedford, NH.  Over that time, Coach Stank was a PE teacher, football coach, and track coach from 2007-2019. He was the assistant football and head track coach from 2007-2014 and head football coach of the Bedford Bulldogs from 2015-2018.  He led the Bulldogs to 2 undefeated Division 1 State Championships in 4 years and had a 4-year record of 39-6. Coach Stank has a passion for helping young adults develop into better people on and off the field. He has also helped dozens of players play at the next level. Coach Stank was the 2006 recipient of the UNH Jim Urquhart Male Student-Athlete of the Year award for being a dual-sport athlete and for his accomplishments in the Department of Kinesiology. He was the captain and MVP for the University of New Hampshire football program in 2005. Coach Stank is married to Sarah, a north county native, and recently welcomed a new baby boy Decker Reh.  He is excited to be a part of the San Marcos Football family for many years to come.
